Germany has the reputation of the world's exhibition kingdom, in the past five years in the country held an average of 144 international fairs each year, attracting 166,000 exhibitors around the world and 9 million to 10 million visitors. 2004, the German exhibition company's turnover amounted to nearly 2.5 billion euros, exhibitors and visitors for the German fair spending nearly 10 billion euros each year. The fair also for transportation, tourism, hotel, catering and other industries to bring about 25 billion euros of economic benefits, and to protect 250,000 jobs. The fair is an important pillar of the German service industry and an effective means to promote the economic development of the German region and the growth of foreign trade. The successful experience and many practices of German exhibition industry are worthy of our learning and reference.
The successful experience of German exhibition industry brings many inspirations to the developing Chinese exhibition industry, which is worth studying and learning from.
  (a) The exhibition industry has a strong economic radiation effect, which can drive the rapid development of transportation, tourism, hotels, catering and other service industries, and is an effective means to promote the growth of regional economy and foreign trade. Local governments should raise their awareness of the exhibition economy and take the development of the exhibition economy as an important task in promoting the internationalization of China's economy and urbanization.
(ii) Referring to the model of the German Exhibition and Fair Committee (AUMA), the National Exhibition Industry Association should be established as soon as possible to formulate strategies and plans for the development of China's exhibition industry, effectively fulfill the responsibilities of industry management, and coordinate the formulation of exhibition plans across the country, so as to avoid as much as possible the phenomenon of duplication of exhibition contents.
  (c) Give full play to the role of industry associations and establish exhibition brands. The exhibition company should start from my advantageous industry, strengthen cooperation with industry associations, utilize the resources and professional expertise of industry associations, and carefully cultivate industry exhibition brands.
  (d) Strengthening cooperation with foreign exhibition companies and accelerating the cultivation of exhibition talents. At present, the international exhibition market shows the development trend that buyers go to the country where the factories are located to concentrate on purchasing, and German exhibition companies have the earliest insight into this trend, thus increasing their efforts to invest and run exhibitions in China, which provides opportunities for our country to develop into a leading exhibition market in Asia. I should seize the favorable opportunity to accelerate the training of exhibition professionals, expand foreign cooperation, and comprehensively improve the quality and level of the exhibition industry.
